The Disaster Search and Rescue team is made up of CERT-trained MVEST volunteers.
CERT, or Community Emergency Response Team, is a national volunteer training program that provides very basic emergency response skills that can be vital in disasters when professional responders are overwhelmed. There are over 60 CERT-trained residents in Marin Valley. MVEST encourages CERT training for all MVEST volunteers. Classes are offered monthly at various locations in Marin County.
