On Sunday, 12–1 pm, bring your weights, stretch bands, and a water bottle, for an hour of gentle functional strength training for seniors with Nan Watanabe. Not just for athletes, strength training is essential for healthy aging. We naturally lose muscle mass and strength as we age, a condition known as sarcopenia. This decline can lead to weakness, balance issues, and an increased risk of falls. Strength training slows this process, helping seniors maintain independence and vitality. Studies show that adults who regularly engage in resistance training maintain muscle and bone health, as well as confidence in their movement. $15/session monthly ($20 drop-ins)
