Park Acquisition Corporation
The PAC is a nonprofit corporation that officially represents Marin Valley (Marin Valley Mobile Country Club — MVMCC) residents in business and management decisions with the Park owner (the City of Novato) and Park Management. The PAC has two primary contractual obligations. One is a Delegation Agreement with the City of Novato that requires the PAC to perform specific functions that would otherwise fall to the City as owner. The other is to contract with a professional management company for the day-to-day Park operations. The PAC has a five-member resident board with staggered two-year terms and a formal, Park-wide election each May for terms that begin in June. Therefore as the only Park organization with this comprehensive selection process, and because of its contractual agreements with the City of Novato, the PAC Board is recognized by the owner as the official representative of Park residents. Because of this, the PAC Board also assumes the important noncontractual responsibility of representing the Park residents’ interests back to the owner.
Monthly Meetings
The PAC Board meets the first Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. in the ballroom and on Zoom, except for June, when it meets on the first Saturday at 11 a.m. The agenda for PAC meetings is posted on the PAC bulletin board in the clubhouse before the meeting, the News and Events sections of the website homepage, and will be emailed to any resident who requests to be added to the email list to receive it, along with the minutes of previous meetings.

HOL — The Home Owners League is the oldest organization in Marin Valley, celebrating 55 years of volunteer service as the voice of the residents to Park Management, and is a PAC Standing Committee. HOL meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 4:30 pm in the Fireside Room. All residents are encouraged to attend as everyone has a voice at every meeting. HOL is very active in making Marin Valley a safe, healthy, and happy environment while providing and sponsoring educational and recreational activities that promote the general welfare of all residents. The home page on this website will also alert you to the latest HOL events. In addition to the numerous activities, classes, events, and services, HOL provides and maintains the iMac, PC, and shredder in the library, the lawn furniture and accessories around the pool, and coordinates the selection and offerings in the gym with Management. MVEST (Marin Valley Emergency Safety Team) provides education and training for a disaster-resilient community through individual and neighborhood preparedness. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. The steering committee — Bill Davis, Chair, Pauline Clucas, John Feld, John Hansen, Carol-Joy Harris, Pam Hyer, Stephen Plocher, and Erma Wheatley — meets from time to time in the Fireside Room in the clubhouse. All are invited and welcome to attend.

Project Planning — met periodically to explore developing the area below the clubhouse. There is potential for a picnic sitting area, an assisted care center, or a community garden, and perhaps the drilling of a water well to address emergency water storage and the watering of the community garden. The committee will hold future meetings to hear your input and to incorporate these findings into the project, once it is operational again.

PAC’s Subcommittee on Rules and Regulations — John Hansen and Peggy Hill developed a brief overview of what is important to most residents. This includes a mission statement along with a general philosophy of the community and residents. The updated Rules and Regulations they finalized have been sent to the City and are awaiting final approval.
