Disaster Relief and Recovery

While there is much preparation that can be done for an emergency, the focus of this MVEST group is planning and organizing resources for after the incident. The facilitation and organization of disaster relief services, the Insurance-claim processes, and teams of inspectors and adjusters are key concerns of this group.

There will be numerous government agency and NGO relief and recovery programs, some of which will be here for extended periods of time. This MVEST team is tasked with identifying programs that benefit the community, conditions and prerequisites for program qualification, and specific procedures for application.

The group will address additional recovery considerations such as helping to ensure the availability of supplies, equipment, a professional workforce, and pre-selection and pre-vetting prime contractors. This team also will pre-plan for local relief operations such as Novato City and Marin County Care and Shelter Annexes. MVEST has and will continue to have classes about insurance and provide information for us to make informed choices.
